The most positive person I have ever seen is my dad. He's so positive that I do not remember 1 a single word from him which is related to hopelessness.
Unlike most moms and dads, my dad never says things that make me 2 bad. He's always there to give 3 encouragement and help. When I do 4 things, he always tells me what's right in a positive way. For example, if I am in trouble. He often tells me to open the books he 5 me. Then he asks me to read the stories that can help me 6 the problems I'm facing. After that, we have a 7 together.
Even though I'm not always a good kid, my dad 8 shouts or gets angry with me. I know that he is waiting for a day----a day when I grow up and understand things in my 9 .
I can see the reason that he's so positive is because he believes in 10 . And he believes that whatever happens, it is under control.
So we have nothing to worry about. Be positive!

A rich man was riding along the road and saw an old man digging in his garden. There was a young tree 1 on the ground. The rich man called 2 to the old man. "What kind of tree are you planting there, my good man?"
"This is a fig tree, sir." He said. "A fig tree?" the rich man was very 3 .
"Why, how 4 are you, may I ask?" "I am ninety years old this year." "What?" cried the man. "You are ninety years old. You 5 a very young tree now and it will take years to give fruit. You certainly don't hope to live long enough to get any fruit 6 this tree." The old man looked 7 the garden. Then he said with a smile, "Tell me sir. "Did you eat figs when you were a boy?" "Sure, why do you ask this question?" The man asked. "Then tell me this," he said. "Who planted the fig tree?" "Why-why? I don't know." "You see, sir, our forefather(祖先) planted trees for 8 to enjoy and I am doing the same for the people after me."
The rich man was quiet and said, "You're 9 , my good man, we should do 10 for the people after us. Thank you very much." The rich man rode away.

Few people like changing their habits, good or bad. Whether it is smoking, drinking or over-eating, they continue "enjoying" 1 to the end.
On every packet of cigarettes, people 2 against the dangers of smoking: "Warning: cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health." However, 3 of them start smoking or go on smoking, Why?
Facts shows that 4 and surroundings play a very important part influencing smokers. All 5 smokers come from smoking families or have smoking friends or relatives. Films and TV plays also play a part. People 6 their heroes on TV drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. "Heroes" seem to fear 7 , neither killing themselves nor killing others with alcohol and cigarettes. If they are not afraid of the harm of smoking and drinking, why should common people 8 afraid.
The simple warning on the cigarette packet does not influence 9 habits. Even stronger warning, like 10 pictures of smokers who have died of cancer don't seem to work.
Knowing and believing seemed to be two different things. If smoking is really as harmful as doctors say, it is time for smokers to think about it and try to give it up.

I still remember my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. white. She looked just like Snow White,
1 she had the same bright eyes and short dark hair.
We used to write a lot and I would show what I wrote to Mrs. White for correction(批改). She would look at my writing and seeing 2 mistakes in it. But she never made any red correction and she 3 gave a star. I was feeling proud of my writing each time I got a star. But 4 worried my mother. So one day when she met Mrs. White at a parent- teacher meeting. Mom asked her why she never corrected my mistakes and why she never said no to 5 child.
Mrs. White said, "The 6 are just beginning to get excited about using words. Spelling and grammar can wait. We can't stop that interest with a red pen." As it was a long time ago, my mother could only remember the main idea of what Mrs. White 7 about my writing. However, I grew up learning to use words with loving care and confidence like that.
If Mrs. White had used her red pen 8 , I probably wouldn't be telling you about this now. Whenever I look back on those encouraging stars from Mrs. White. I feel they just look like real ones in the night sky, bright, shiny, and 9 me on my way somewhere. I do believe she was 10 a wonderful teacher, who tried to use a red pen less to keep the Joy, wonder and excitement in a child's mind.
Thanks to Mrs. White, I have no fear about writing. Also I'm not afraid of any mistake in my life.

6 was difficult to learn English when Ma was a teenager because of limited resources. However, he found that he could learn English 7 by giving tourists free guides around his hometown Hangzhou. And he kept it 8 nine years. Ma said that tourist opened up a new world for him because everything they said and did was so 9 from what he had been taught at school and by his parents.
Ma's hero is the Forest Gump who never 10 up. When he made a speech about his success at Davos in 2015, Ma said, "life is like a box of chocolates because you never know what you're going to get."

A teacher had been made very angry by some of his boys making a high sound during school hours. At last, he was forced to punish anyone 1 should repeat the wrong act. The next morning, a loud sound 2 in the quiet room. The students were very much 3 , and the teacher at once looked around to 4 the person who had made a high sound.
When a boy who was often in bad act, was told he was 5 , he strongly said he didn't stand it. Yet his 6 were not believed, and he was brought up for punishment. Seeing what was about to take place, Charles, a little boy got up 7 from his seat, "Don't punish John, sir. I made the high sound. I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to whistle." He 8 out his hand to be punished. Taking the little boy's hand, the teacher said, "Charles, you have done right. I can't punish you after you have acted so nobly(豪爽的)." Even the 9 child in the school felt proud of Charles, for every child could see how bravely he had acted.
Charles was truly a brave boy. He had done what he knew 10 . True courage may also be shown by refusing to do that which we know to be wrong, though bad people may laugh at us.

He wrote plays and books about justice(正义) for all people, and he wrote 4 books, too. The Sweet and Sour Animal Book is a book of his animal poems. Pictures and photos 5 in the book. Spielberg once said, "I don't dream that much at night because I dream for a living." In different 10 , both Hughes and Spielberg have encouraged people of all ages to reach for their dreams.

The long trunk of an elephant is a wonderful example of skill. The neck of four footed 1 is usually long, to have them reach their food without 2 . But the elephant has a short neck, to make him 3 easily support the weight of his huge head and heavy teeth. His long trunk let him get his food easily.
The trunk of an elephant is to him what the neck is to 4 animals. It is also a nose to him, for at the end of it, there is 5 empty place like a cup, and in the bottom of the cup. There are two holes. And the animal 6 and breathes through them. It is an arm and a hand too, so that it has been said that the elephant carries his nose in 7 hand. And it might also have been said that he breathes by his hand.
At the end of the trunk. There is a strange part about five 8 long, which forms a finger. With this finger, the animal can pick up the 9 piece of money from the ground, and he has been taught to make marks like letters 10 a pen.

Life is not easy, so I'd like to say "when anything happens, believe in yourself."
When I was a young boy I was so 1 that I dare not talk to anyone. My classmates often
2 at me. I was sad but could do nothing. Later, something happened, and it 3 my life. It was an English speech contest. My English teacher asked me to take part in it. What a terrible idea, it meant I had to speak 4 all the teachers and students of my school.
"Come on, boy, believe in yourself, you are sure to win." Then my teacher and I talked about
5 different topics. At last I chose the topic "believe in yourself". I tried my best to remember all the speech and practiced it 6 100 times. With my teacher's great love, I did 7 in the contest. I could hardly believe my ears when the news came that I had won the 8 place. I heard the cheers from the teachers and students. Those classmates who once looked 9 on me, now all said "Congratulations!" to me. My teacher hugged me and cried excitedly.
Since then, everything has changed for me. when I do anything, I try to tell 10 to be sure, and I will find myself. This is true not only for a person, but also for a country.
