一．重点单词

1.volunteer  to do sth. volunteer作动词

to be a volunteer 这里volunteer为名词。

2.notice  v&n 通知，注意到

notice sb do sth/notice sb doing sth 后面接不带to的不定式，但是被动语态时to要还原，例如：

Did you notice his hand shaking? 

你有没有注意到他的手在抖?

He was noticed to leave the house an hour ago. 

一小时前有人注意到他离开了这所房子。

3.lonely和alone

lonely强调情感上的孤独， alone 强调数量是一个人(by oneself)，但不一定是孤单。

a strong feeling of satisfaction 强烈的满足感

拓展：raise... 举起......（由外力引起的上升），及物动词，后接宾语。

rise 上升（物体自身引起的位置上浮），是不及物动词，后面不能跟宾语，不能用于被动语态。

8.disabled=dis-否定前缀+able 能够的+d（ed为形容词后缀，这里已经以e结尾了，所以只加d）。the disabled 残疾人(disabled people)，指一类人，后面的动词用复数。

9. difficulty n.既可作可数也作不可数。

①用作不可数名词，意为困难、艰难，常用在以下句型中：

have/find (no, some, any, much)  difficulty with sth./(in) doing sth.

There is no (some, any, much) difficulty (in) doing sth.

②用作可数名词，表示具体的困难，意为难事、难点、困境、难处。

This book is full of difficulties.

In face of so many difficulties, we never appeared to be afraid.

difficult adj.困难的。要注意区分！
